How To Prepare For Laser Liposuction
If you have been struggling to lose that last bit of stubborn fat, and you dream of having a flawless silhouette, then it’s time to consider laser liposuction. This highly-advanced cosmetic procedure is ideal for individuals who are concerned with the belly bulge, a double chin, flabby arms, and other exercise-resistant pockets of fat.
You will have more than one detailed conversation with Dr. Bledsoe about what you can do to achieve the best results. Before undergoing this life changing surgery, it’s important to prepare not just physically, but mentally, financially, and logistically as well. While every patient’s experience is unique, we’ve listed below some of the general considerations that should be made prior to surgery.
-
You will need to have a medical evaluation, which may include lab testing, in order to make sure you are an ideal candidate for laser liposuction. Please inform us if you have any infection or illness.
-
If you are taking any medications or supplements, you may be asked to suspend usage for a period of time before and after surgery. This is especially important if you are taking anything that may affect blood clotting.
-
The use of tobacco or alcohol will slow down your recovery and keep you from achieving the highest quality results. Give yourself at least six weeks of complete sobriety before and after the procedure, and your improved health will contribute to a better outcome.
-
Good overall health is important for the success of the treatment. So, in the days leading up to your surgery it is essential to avoid stress, sleep well, think positively, and eat healthy foods. If you aren’t currently exercising, start now. A fitter patient is a safer patient.
-
On the day of your procedure, keep makeup to a minimum and avoid wearing jewelry, contact lenses, or nail polish.
-
We do ask that you arrange for someone to drive you to and from the Alexandria Body Sculpting Center and possibly stay with you for the first night following your surgery.
Before you undergo laser liposuction or SmartLipo, you and Dr. Bledsoe will also discuss costs, your recovery period, and the expected overall outcome.
The complexity of your surgery may vary depending on the area(s) treated. Discussing your concerns and the necessary preparations with Dr. Bledsoe and the rest of our staff will help you keep a positive attitude and achieve the results you’ve been dreaming of.
